MADISON, FL – North Florida College awarded 181 students with degrees or certificates at the conclusion
of its Spring Term 2024. Graduates were honored at NFC’s Spring 2024 Commencement Ceremony on May 9th
at Van H. Priest Auditorium. The event’s guest speaker was the Honorable Corey Simon, Senator for District 3.

Here in Suwannee County, we are fortunate to have beautiful shared spaces like our parks and freshwater springs such as Little River Springs to enjoy with friends and family. With such good fortune comes the responsibility to keep these areas pristine and welcoming, not only for locals but also for visitors. Now is the time to take decisive action to safeguard destinations like these, which make Suwannee County a gem in Florida. It’s time to advocate for strong policies that keep deadly tobacco out of places like Royal Springs.

Debris Cleanup Procedures from the May 10 and 11 storms - Suwannee County

Our county continues to recover from the effects of the May 10 and 11 storms. Suwannee County Commissioners and the Suwannee County Division of Emergency Management have established the process and teams for the cleanup of debris caused by the recent event.

Help Gentle Carousel Get Back On The Road!

Gentle Carousel's big blue van has been bringing love across the country for years (this photo at a hospital in Nashville, TN). Unfortunately this week the transmission failed suddenly on the way home from a visit. The van has been towed and is in the shop, but needs major repairs to get back on the road.

If anyone is age 16 - 21 years old, has dropped out of high school and not received a diploma or a high school equivalent certificate, they will be able to apply for free schooling to earn a career from technical colleges and career centers free of charge, if the new legislation becomes law.
