NFPAA - For several years, North Florida Performing Arts Academy has hosted a school-wide competition to demonstrate student knowledge of American history and basic civics. Principal Tony Buzzella believes students and staff should be well informed about our amazing country as facts do matter.
The competition fell on Grandparents Day. A day to honor the wonderful work grandparents do to care for their grandchildren’s well-being and care.
The students were separated into five groups, each being quizzed from a study guide prepared from the 100 Questions of the American Citizenship Test. Students were quizzed on a portion of studied questions. The winner of each group was presented with an authentic 1 ounce .999 pure, uncirculated American Eagle silver dollar, worth about $60 in current value.
In addition to learning about our great country, students also gain knowledge of how our government works. Patriotism and personal responsibility are values taught to all students attending North Florida Performing Arts Academy.
The 5 winners are: Dorian Ortiz-Pagan (Highschool), Peter Krafinski (Middle School), Saylor Cannon (Upper Elementary), Sophia Sena (Lower Elementary), & Anna Buzzella (Primary).
