The emergency departments of each of the hospitals are the most utilized service, averaging 22,000 visits each year, which highlights the need for emergency care to be readily available in the local communities currently served by the hospitals. Following the completion of the transaction, North Florida Regional Medical Center and Lake City Medical Center will operate the facilities as full-service emergency departments providing 24/7 emergency care from board-certified emergency physicians, 365 days per year for both pediatric and adult patients.
