Youth and Adults Competing at Southside This Weekend, Nov 16 and 17

Submitted by Alden Rosner Sports Marketing Director

The Southside Sports Complex in Lake City will be buzzing with activity this weekend as the facility plays host to three tournaments; a girls fastpitch, boys baseball, and an adult softball tournament.

The USSSA Baseball North Florida Fall State Championships will be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 16 and 17, 2019, at the yellow, red, and blue fields of the complex. 56 teams from across Florida and Georgia will be competing across 7 different levels of competition. Participating players range in age from 9 to 14, and will be competing on a chilly North Florida weekend for the chance to earn a coveted USSSA ring. Due to limited field availability, additional teams will be competing on the recently renovated fields at the South Columbia Sports Park in Fort White.

At the Girls Softball Complex, more than 20 teams will be competing Saturday only in a 5-game guarantee USSSA Iron Woman fastpitch softball tournament, with winners receiving USSSA bracelets. Participants range in age from 10 to 14 years of age, with teams traveling from across North Florida to compete at the award-winning complex.

Toys for Tots will be hosting an adult coed softball tournament at the adult softball fields. The registration fee to participate is $175 per team plus an unwrapped toy or $10 donation per player.
