Honoring Our Veterans

The 2019 Veterans Day Parade in Live Oak chose United States Army Veteran, Stacie Stoerkel, of Wellborn, as the Grand Marshall this year. The Suwannee NJROTC, led the parade, followed by many floats, cars and trucks from organizations supporting veterans, along with the fire department and law enforcement. The parade is sponsored by the City of Live Oak and supported by various veterans organizations to recognize and honor our armed forces, all who serve and have served.

After the parade a ceremony was held at 11 a.m. at the Live Oak Cemetery where Stoerkel was the featured speaker.

Following the ceremony, the Seventh Annual Salute to Veterans luncheon was held at the Elks Lodge in Live Oak where all veterans/active military and their families enjoyed a free meal of chicken, beans, coleslaw, bread and drink.
