End of summer Band Jam at the Keg Room

Submitted by Gabrielle Stevenson

The Keg Room in Lake City is hosting an all day, multi-band event Sunday, October 13th, to celebrate the end of summer and kick off the beginning of fall. This event will feature six different full bands including Alliance Band, Borderline, 47 South, The Deviljays, Doc Adams Band and Little Bit More - spanning the genres of southern rock, classic rock, country, blues and more. All musicians are welcome to come to the jam and be a part.

There will be a $10 cover charge which will include a BBQ meal for all who attend - BBQ chicken, pork and all the sides, provided by Ed Tapley. The Keg Room will also have great drink specials, raffle drawings and a 50/50 drawing for this event. Live music begins at 1:00 pm and will continue for the entire day!

Pat Harris, with Little Bit More band, organized this event in conjunction with Keg Room owner, Adrian Land. Their goal is to support local musicians and live music in a way that allows them to showcase their talents, meet old and new friends for a day and allow live music fans to hear some groups they may not have heard before.

Harris said, “We actually used to do band jams all the time back in the day. It brought musicians together and you could meet new players by going to jams. We don’t have this kind of support of live music anymore and a lot of players don’t get together. We want to invite all musicians to come.” Harris said he’s been part of many jams over the years and his hope is to continue to put on events like this in the future. He added, “We’ll be set up primarily outside for the day and then inside later on in the evening. We would love for everyone to come out and hear some great music they haven’t heard in a long time. That’s what makes it all possible, the people coming to listen and support live music and bands.”

The Keg Room is located at 22671 FL-247, Lake City, Florida 32024 attendees must be 21 and up.
