According to an FHP release, a 2014 Freightliner semi truck, driven by Treavor Hinds, 48, of Midway, Florida, was traveling west on Interstate 10 in the right outside travel lane. He was approaching the I-75 interchange when an unknown vehicle traveled directly in front of him.  In an effort to avoid striking the unknown vehicle Hinds swerved to his left, at which time the piece of machinery that was on his trailer fell off. The large piece of machinery then rolled down I-10 causing major damage to the roadway and overpass. Hinds came to a controlled final rest on the north shoulder of I-10.

Due to the crash and the subsequent road damage the following detours are in place: to continue northbound on I 75 motorist will be required to go east on I-10 to US 41, go north on US 41 to County road 136, go west on CR 136 to I-75.
