HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – Following its October 14 Toy Soldier Poker Run, leaders, members and supporters of the North Florida Presidents Council of Motorcycle Clubs and Organizations gathered at The Diner in High Springs on November 21 to donate the $22,800 proceeds from that event to Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Herry's Kids Pediatric Services.

Combined with its donations from five previous annual Toy Soldier Runs, the 2017 contribution from the North Florida Presidents Council brings its support to date to $68,424.17.

Accepting this year’s donation on behalf of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Regional Director Kathy Kavanagh said, “It is amazing that everyone involved was able to increase this year’s donation by more then 60 percent over last year’s. That’s a testament to how committed they are to supporting Herry’s Kids and how hard they all worked to accomplish this. We are grateful to count the North Florida Presidents Council as our partners and, on behalf of the children and families we serve, we thank them for all they help us accomplish.”

Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast provides specialized services to children and teens with life-threatening illnesses, and offers grief education and therapeutic camps to young people who have experienced a loss. There is no cost for any of the programs. All programs are entirely dependent upon donations of time, services, supplies and money. Contact Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast at 866-642-0962 to support Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast Herry’s Kids Pediatric Services.

The North Florida Presidents Council of Motorcycle Clubs and Organizations was founded in 2011 to coordinate annual social activities, benefit the clubs and organizations, and schedule charity and benefit runs. It serves interested members from Florida’s panhandle to the east coast and from the Georgia/Florida line to the Alachua/Marion County line. In addition to the annual Toy Soldier Poker Run’s support of Herry’s Kids Pediatric Services and the associated toy distribution to area agencies that help children in surrounding counties (by Heavens Highway Servants Motorcycle Ministries), the organization contributes to charities throughout the year.
